Snakes are reptiles that are found all across the world. There are many different types of snakes such as, the Gaboon Viper, the Western Hognose and the Red Tailed Boa.  Different snakes fall under separate families: constrictors, non-venomous, and venomous.

Snakes are cold blooded animals so they maintain their temperature by using their surroundings. It doesn’t take much energy for snakes to regulate temperature, but they spend extra time in the sun.

Snakes can be found anywhere but they prefer to live in moist and humid places, such as swamps, marshes, and forests.

Snakes are also heterotrophs, meaning that they find energy from other sources. Many snakes eat animals like mice, birds, and even other snakes. Some snakes eat larger animals as they grow. Regardless of how a snake captures their prey, they usually eat them in one big bite.
